Dr. A.V. Setlur,
P.E., S.E.
– President
Dr. Setlur has over thirty-five years of experience in various
capacities of nuclear power plant engineering and consulting services.
Dr. Setlur has been involved in engineering, management, and regulatory
support of nuclear power plants including the original design of two
nuclear PWR stations, Kewaunee and Prairie Island. He founded and has
been President of AES since its inception. During this period, he has
been involved in a wide range of technical and regulatory issues
specifically in the areas of mechanical and structural engineering. Dr.
Setlur is a Registered Professional Engineer and Registered Structural
Engineer in several states.
Thomas
N. Vogel, P.E.
– Vice President of Projects
Mr. Vogel has over thirty years of experience in the engineering
consulting services area. Mr. Vogel is directly responsible for the
general management of engineering services provided from AES’s
Minneapolis Office primarily to the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant
and Duane Arnold Energy Center. Technical areas of expertise include
ASME Class 1,2,3 and ANSI B31.1
piping and support design and analysis; Mark I containment and seismic
design and analysis, Thermal Uprate, High Energy Line Break
(HELB), Heavy Loads, IEB 79-14 & 79-02, Severe Accident Design, and
ECCS Strainer and qualification.
Curtis Warchol, P.E., S.E.
– VP of Engineering
Mr. Warchol has over twenty five years of experience in the nuclear
power
industry. His experience spans a wide variety of structural,
mechanical, and engineering mechanics applications including, steel
design, concrete design, dynamic analysis, piping analysis (including
torus attached piping), component supports, pressure vessel analysis,
containment penetrations, and seismic equipment qualifications. His
specialties include hydrodynamic analysis, fluid structure interaction,
hydrodynamic loads, finite element analysis, fatigue analysis and
non-linear analysis. He has taken industry wide lead roles in the areas
of MOV structural analysis, permanent lead shielding, and containment
strainer
design. He holds professional and structural engineering licenses in
several states including Illinois, Nebraska, Texas, and Kansas.
Donald
R. Eggett
– Manager of Business Development
With over thirty years experience, Mr. Eggett has held numerous management and technical
positions in nuclear power generation. As the Manager of Business Development, he holds
a dual role responsibility of marketing the business aspects of the company and directing
and managing major tasks for multiple clients. He brings experience in engineering design,
licensing and regulatory compliance, operational and maintenance improvements, inspections
and assessments, project management, and strategic planning. He possesses a strong knowledge
of plant system interactions where this experience extends to operations and maintenance.
He has been certified on both the BWR and PWR designs. He has performed numerous independent
reviews in the areas of plant engineering and operational performance both at Exelon / ComEd
as a former management employee and numerous other nuclear plants. He previously held a SRO license.
Scott
T. Nelson, P.E., S.E.
– Civil /Structural Engineering Manager
Mr. Nelson began practicing structural engineering in 1987. After
3 ½ years designing commercial and residential buildings, Mr.
Nelson began working on nuclear power plant modifications for various
Midwest utilities. Since then, Mr. Nelson has lead project teams in
solving many structural analysis and design issues related to the
nuclear industry including, independent spent fuel storage systems, and
DOE waste processing facilities. During this time, he has extensive
experience with regulatory compliance issues related to building,
piping, equipment supports, cranes, and other mechanical components,
such as, MOV's, containment strainers, and permanent lead shielding
systems. Mr. Nelson is a registered Professional Engineer and Structural
Engineer, and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Jon
Nehls
– Manager of Electrical Engineering
Mr. Nehls is the Electrical Engineering Manager for AES. His background
includes new plant design, development and maintenance of design
criteria, on-site engineering support of construction activities,
verification and inspection programs, and engineering support for plant
operation, maintenance and modification activities. He has lead
projects involving the development and revision to electrical analyses,
including cable ampacity, voltage drop, short circuit, relay setting,
electrical distribution and load flow, motor sizing, cable and
equipment procurement and sizing. He has also been the lead on project
modifications associated with control board verification and rewiring,
Appendix R safe shutdown, cable replacement, isolated phase bus duct
design, Generic Letter 89-10, 4.16kV and 480V equipment sizing and
replacement, load center design, Reactor Feed Pump replacement and
motor upgrades. Mr. Nehls graduated from the University of Illinois at
Chicago with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Raj Dhiman
– Mgr of I&C Engineering
Mr. Dhiman is the Manager of the Instrumentation and
Control (I&C) Group. With over twenty years consulting
for commercial nuclear power generation facilities, he has lead and
managed projects that involved modification packages associated with
Digital Controls and Monitoring Upgrades for systems such as Feedwater
Control, Feedwater Heater Drain Control, Reactor Feed Pump Speed Control,
Reactor Recirc. Flow Control including installation of variable speed
drives, Turbine Supervisory, Main Turbine Electro-Hydraulic Controls,
HPCI/RCIC control, Water Treatment and Neutron Monitoring. His
experience includes Plant Process Computer System upgrades, Extended
Power Uprate (EPU), Control Room Modernization (including paperless recorder),
Fire Detection and Security System Upgrade projects. Mr. Dhiman graduated
from the University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
engineering in 1988.
Shashi Setlur
– VP of Eng. Assurance
As the VP of Engineering Assurance, Mrs. Setlur oversees the technical
quality of the products and engineering procedures. Her role
complements Quality Assurance Group’s activities. As a professional
engineer with over thirty years experience in the analysis and design
of nuclear power plant structure, piping systems, development of
technical specifications, and supervision of design drawings for
nuclear, fossil and heavy industrial and office buildings, she has a
keen eye to detect technical issues and mentor less experienced staff
to review and assure that the products meet the high quality standards
established with the organization. In the past, in her academic career,
she taught undergraduate courses in the structural analysis and design.
She has a Master’s degree from Purdue University and is a Registered
Professional Engineer in Illinois.
Eric Halverson
– Manager of Mechanical Eng.
Mr. Halverson is the Mechanical Engineering Manager for AES. With over
twenty seven years in the nuclear power industry, he has developed
strong organizational design and development projects including the
management of many large projects. His expertise includes fluid flow,
heat transfer, piping analysis, system design, modification development,
and configuration management. With a strong understanding of detailed
design, licensing and startup testing of the newest generation of operating
domestic nuclear power plants, Mr. Halverson continues to lead the
Mechanical team in successful design integration of power plants.
Dan Lamond
– Engineering Programs Manager
Mr. Lamond is a Nuclear Engineering graduate from the University of
Illinois with over twenty years experience consulting for the nuclear
power industry. He has been successful as an Engineering VP, Group
Manager, Project Manager, Technical Lead, and Principal Engineer for
various power and energy groups. The emphasis of his technical
background has been in 10CFR50 driven Engineering Programs including
ASME Section XI Inservice Inspection and Testing, Risk-Informed Inspection
Applications, Containment Inservice Inspection, System Pressure Testing,
Buried Piping, Reactor Pressure Vessel Inspection, and Repair & Replacement
program development. Mr. Lamond also has experience managing various Fire
Protection Program Appendix R and NFPA 805 projects, as well as resolution
and program development for generic licensing and augmented programs such
as GL08 01 Gas Accumulation Management, NUREG 0800 High Energy Line Break,and
GL88-01 IGSCC Inspections. Mr. Lamond is an active member of the Standards Committee
Section XI, the Working Group on Pressure Testing (Chairman), the Working Group
on Implementation of Risk-Informed ISI, the Subgroup on Water Cooled Systems,
and the ASME Technical Inquiry Committee.
William Knous
– Senior Project Manager
Mr. Knous is a senior manager at AES with over thirty years in project
leadership roles. He has experience building and directing strategic
business initiatives. He has focused on business and project functions
critical to solving engineering and information problems and achieving
company goals. He is a strong technical project manager exhibiting leadership
through team oriented solutions, consulting, and processes. Some of Mr. Knous’
technical strengths include Nuclear Security, EPC Management, HVAC Engineering,
GSI 191 Sump Screens, Generic Letter 08-01, Licensing Support, and 50.54 USAR Rebaseline.
