As a pioneer in the nuclear power generation industry and having seen and been part of the changes that this part of the industry has gone through over the years, I can tell you that I feel I have been fortunate to be part of this public service. And to continue to be a stakeholder in this public service sector, I wanted to do something more for the clients I had served for so many years so I started this company.

Automated Engineering Services Corp. (AES), an Employee-Owned Professional Design Engineering Firm incorporated in the State of Illinois with primary offices in Naperville, IL and Plymouth, Minnesota, has been in the engineering services business since 1990. Over this period of time, we have continuously strengthened the company’s engineering and technical capabilities through selective addition of professionals with strong engineering, analytical, technical, and managerial backgrounds. As a result, we have established a level of high credibility with our clients through highly intensive engineering and management services supplemented by staff augmentation.

Our company is an engineering services organization primarily focused on nuclear power generation industry. We have been providing quality engineering, technical, and regulatory support services to nuclear power utilities in general and primarily to nuclear power plants in the Midwest and East Coast regions for over two decades.  Previous to that, some of the AES staff members were involved in the original design of Prairie Island, Monticello and Kewaunee plants while others were employed by large nuclear utilities and major engineering firms. Thus, the combined AES staff has been supporting nuclear power generation in the engineering design and operational aspects of the plant since the genesis of commercial nuclear power.  Our long history of involvement in support of nuclear power generation is a testament to the trust each client has placed in us; a trust, we believe that was earned through dedicated, responsive, and cost effective service.

Although our focus is nuclear power, our company has capabilities in a wide variety of general engineering disciplines and thus can and do provide support at times to the non-nuclear markets including the industrial, commercial, and government sectors. These wide range of engineering disciplines include areas such as Civil / Structural Engineering, Piping Design & Analysis, Mechanical Systems Engineering, Electrical and I & C Engineering, Pressure Vessel Design & Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, and Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics, among others.

In addition to our technical expertise, we consider ourselves strong in project management as well.  Our project management team both individually and collectively bring a strong engineering, technical, and managerial background to each and every client we serve in the U.S. and internationally.

Being a medium size organization, we minimize overheads on our projects, thereby keeping the cost and demand on our client’s staff resource involvement to a minimum.
